MOSCOW, RUSSIA / RankWire.AI / – In Russia, during the period from January to July 2026, non-resource, non-energy exports surpassed the $96 billion mark, reflecting an 8% increase compared to the same timeframe in the previous year. First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov announced this year-on-year growth in his latest update on Russian exports. This category specifically excludes traditional raw materials and energy shipments. The seven-month performance continues the upward trend seen during the first half of 2026, with all figures denominated in U.S. dollars.

Anton Alikhanov, the Minister of Industry and Trade, indicated that small and midsize enterprises contributed $15.9 billion to the total exports for the same period, accounting for roughly 17% of Russia’s non-resource, non-energy exports in those seven months. Currently, approximately 42,700 small and midsize firms are engaged in export activities. These SMEs also made up 1,042 of the 1,341 applications for the 2026 Exporter of the Year awards, representing 76 regions across all eight federal districts of Russia.
Data from the first half of 2026 also show that Russia’s industrial non-resource, non-energy exports reached $58.8 billion from January to June. For comparison, the same period in 2025 saw $57.1 billion in exports, indicating a year-on-year growth of about 3% in the industrial segment. The Ministry of Industry and Trade identified various manufacturing sectors with increased foreign sales, offering more detail on the key contributors to Russia’s non-resource export success in 2026.
Major sectors see robust growth in industrial shipments
Exports of chemical products rose by 5.3% during the first half compared to the same months in 2025. Shipment volumes of mineral and chemical fertilizers increased by 10.4%. Exports from metallurgy and precious metals grew by 5%, while light industry experienced a notable growth of 25%. Pharmaceuticals, perfumes, and cosmetics saw an 11% rise. These figures pertain to industrial shipments classified under Russia’s non-resource, non-energy export category, with all growth rates comparing January through June 2026 to the same period last year.
Russia’s export target for the full year 2026 is set at $155.25 billion in the non-resource, non-energy segment. Of this, industrial products are expected to total $116.95 billion. In 2025, the country recorded $163.7 billion in non-resource, non-energy exports. Consequently, the 2026 goal is approximately 5% lower than the previous year’s actual total. These targets are part of the national project for International Cooperation and Export, which includes industrial goods, agricultural exports, and infrastructure to support trade.
Long-term non-resource export goals maintained by Russia
The International Cooperation and Export initiative also establishes a 2030 objective for non-resource and non-energy merchandise exports, with a target value of $248.1 billion in nominal terms. This represents a 67% increase compared to the baseline used in 2023. The industrial sector is expected to account for $192.9 billion of this total. The Russian Export Center plays a role in facilitating these efforts, offering digital services to support companies engaged in international trade.
Current data show that Russia’s exports of non-resource, non-energy goods from January through July exceeded $96 billion, with SMEs contributing $15.9 billion. Industrial exports in the first half of the year totaled $58.8 billion, with growth seen across chemicals, fertilizers, metals, light industry, and pharmaceuticals. All these figures are based on U.S. dollars rather than rubles.
